Cheap Chic
Cheap Chic Homo
Cheap Chic Homo was a collaboration between Fischer and the subject, Steven Ward, a close friend. To offset San Francisco’s unpredictable and often rapidly changing weather, Ward wore his clothing in layers, which was the inspiration for the piece. Fischer’s photographs are a strip tease of sorts, presented in a straightforward fashion against a studio backdrop. Ward composed the text and coined the title of the piece.
